
Peter Blanck’s New Book – Advanced Introduction to U.S. Disability Law

On May 12, 2019, Burton Blatt Institute (BBI) Chairman Peter Blanck is featured on “Story in the Public Square” a public affairs television series and podcast. The Telly Award-winning PBS and SiriusXM Satellite radio show is co-hosted by Jim Ludes and G. Wayne Miller. Story in the Public Square is a weekly podcast brought to listeners by Salve Regina University’s Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy. It features interviews with leading print, screen, music and other storytellers about their creative processes and how their stories impact public understanding and policy. Story in the Public Square’s messaging aligns with the BBI’s vision for accessible communities fully including persons with disabilities.

Burton Blatt Institute (BBI) Chairman and University Professor Peter Blanck will address diversity professionals at major law firms. The event is hosted by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) on November 1, 2018 in Chicago at the Grant Thornton building alongside fellow speaker, former AICPA President, Paulette Brown who will speak on ABA Diversity and Inclusion. Blanck’s presentation will feature findings from the recent BBI/ABA Project followed by a Q&A session.

BBI Chairman Peter Blanck will give the keynote address at the Conference on “Challenges to Implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) in Asia and the World,” on October 9, 2018 in Hong Kong, China. The Human Rights Law and Policy Forum of the School of Law, City University of Hong Kong is hosting the event for academics, local officials and public bodies.

BBI Chairman and University Professor Peter Blanck said today in Bloomberg news in regard to “blind workers” and “online hiring systems: “Attitudes about inclusion is the real problem,” Blanck said. Jobs-page “accessibility is just a symptom.” Blanck is chairman of Syracuse University’s Burton Blatt Institute and the author of several books on disabilities laws, including e-quality: The struggle for web accessibility by people with cognitive disabilities.
