Janet Lord, who participated in the drafting of the UN Disability Convention, travelled to Myanmar to work closely with the Myanmar Council on Persons with Disabilities. Together with CRPD Committee Member from South Korea, Dr. Hyung Kim and Allison deFranco of USICD and the Harvard Law School Project on Disability, Janet facilitated an intensive week long training on CRPD monitoring and reporting. The project, supported by USAID, is the first of its kind in Mynamar which has ratified the CRPD and is in the process of adopting national disability legislation.
