April 25, 2013

The Project ENABLE (Expanding Nondiscriminatory Access By Libraries Everywhere) team received a $253,715 grant award from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) to expand their inclusive library program and service professional development program to public and academic librarians nationwide (2013-15). The project originally was funded in 2010, and now will continue until 2015 with this grant. Project ENABLE is a partnership between the iSchool’s Center for Digital Literacy (Ruth Small and Renee Franklin Hill) and the Burton Blatt Institute (William Myhill) at Syracuse University. Since 2010 Project ENABLE has focused on face-to-face and online training for school librarians to help them better design and implement their library and information programs and services for students with disabilities. The current grant will expand the training to public and academic librarians nationwide.
