Dr. Nare Galstyan has been appointed to the position of Assistant Director of the California Psychiatric Advanced Directives (PADs) evaluation project.

PADs are a form of Supported Decision Making that helps ensure that the treatment and recovery preferences of people with mental health challenges are honored and supported when they are unable to make their own decisions. Dr. Galstyan joined BBI in February 2023 and has been major contributor to the evaluation of the PADs web-based platform being implemented by 7 California Counties and their partners. Dr. Galstyan will serve as Team Leader of the BBI PADs research staff and assume a greater leadership role in ensuring that the evaluation achieves its intended results.
