Julia Finan is a PhD student in Sociology at The Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. She earned her BA in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Rutgers University in 2019. Her research interests include disability and medical sociology. Prior to starting her PhD program, she worked as a community health worker at a non-profit organization supporting low-income individuals and families in New Jersey. She has also worked as a research assistant at the Aging Studies Institute at Syracuse University. Julia is currently a research assistant at BBI, contributing to a project focused on self-employment among people with disabilities.
