Erblin Shehu, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Healthcare Management at the State University of New York at Cortland and an affiliated researcher at the Burton Blatt Institute of Syracuse University. His teaching covers health program administration, healthcare management, healthcare finance and ethics, with a focus on case-based learning and applied research.
Dr. Shehu’s research centers on healthcare policy, disability and aging, social determinants of health, and value-based care. He employs advanced quantitative methods, such as quasi-experimental designs, stochastic modeling, and predictive analytics, to evaluate care coordination programs, Medicare and Medicaid policy, and cost-effectiveness of interventions. His disability-related work emphasizes workplace accommodations, inclusive practices, and the intersection of caregiving arrangements with health outcomes.
He has published in Population Health Management and the Journal of Applied Gerontology, with additional work on international health, environmental health, and humanitarian response. He has presented at leading conferences including AcademyHealth, American Public Health Association and the Gerontological Society of America. Prior to academia, he held roles in public health workforce development, healthcare performance management, and policy evaluation in the U.S. and abroad.
