As we enter the third year of the pandemic, COVID-19 continues to have a significant impact on the economy and the workforce. Some employees have developed post-COVID health conditions, or long COVID. And these post-COVID health conditions could impact one or more major life areas that may trigger protections for employees under Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
In this episode of ADA Live!, we will discuss the impact of post-COVID health on the workplace, employees, and employers – and its effect on our economic recovery. U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, EEOC, is responsible for enforcing federal laws that make it illegal to discriminate against a job applicant or an employee because of the person’s race, color, religion, sex, including pregnancy, transgender status and sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or genetic information. EEOC laws apply to most employers with at least 15 employees and to employers with 20 employees in age discrimination cases. Most labor unions and employment agencies are also covered by EEOC laws. The EEOC laws apply to all types of work situations, including hiring, firing, promotions, harassment, training, wages and benefits.
