Naomi Schreuer, Ph.D.
Post-Doctoral Fellow

Naomi Schreuer is a Postdoctoral fellow at the Burton Blatt Institute. Prior to joining BBI, Schreuer was a Faculty member in the the Department of Occupational Therapy, Social Welfare and Health Studies at the University of Hafia. Schreuer has a multidisciplinary Ph.D. in Occupational Therapy and Social Work at the University of Hafia, and her Masters of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the School of Occupational Therapy at Hebrew University and Hadassa Medical Center, Jerusalem, Israel.

Among Schreuer’s distinguished accomplishments include participation in the following conferences: the European Commission; Conference of the American, International and Israeli Occupational Therapy Association s ; Editorial Board Member of the Israeli Journal of Occupational Therapy Association (IJOT); and was elected for the board of Israeli Human Factors and Ergonomics Society. Schreuer has also conducted numerous workshops and seminars related to disability issues for the Israeli National Insurance Institute and Ministry of Defense.

Schreuer’s academic research, publications and teaching are based on her expertise in three major themes: environment adaptations and assistive technology as facilitators for participation; ergonomics and rehabilitation in educational and work settings; and participation in occupations–occupational science and occupational therapy definitions and practice. As recognition for her contribution to the development of these themes nationwide - both academically and clinically - Schreuer was presented with the 2004 Annual Excellency Award from the Israeli Society of Occupational Therapists.
