Aaron Kingson, a Central New York native with financial management experience in nonprofit and academic settings, is Business Director for the Burton Blatt Institute (BBI) at Syracuse University. In this role, Kingson is responsible for preparing and monitoring BBI financial reports and grant budgets, and managing the human resource policies and procedures related to BBI staff.
Upon completing his MBA in 2009, Kingson worked for two years as a Project Associate in the Office of Long-Term Support Studies at The University of Massachusetts Medical School. In this role, Kingson forecasted revenues and expenses, built and monitored office budgets, and developed grant budgets. He also staffed projects including “Embrace Your Future,” a gubernatorial long-term care awareness initiative and the housing subcommittee of the Massachusetts Systems Transformation Grant.
Kingson also comes to BBI with experience managing programs at numerous Syracuse human service agencies. Most recently, he managed the Syracuse Community Health Center, Inc.’s AmeriCorps Program where he provided direction, training and oversight to eight full-time AmeriCorps members while aligning the program’s priorities with the Center’s strategic plan. Prior to beginning his MBA, he built and managed programs with The Boys and Girls Clubs of Syracuse and Dunbar Association, Inc.
Kingson earned an MBA in Healthcare Policy and Management from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Syracuse University. In addition to attending Syracuse University, he received a 2001 Syracuse University “Unsung Hero” award for creating and managing a volunteer program with The Boys and Girls Clubs of Syracuse that resulted in over 100 active volunteers.
