BBI Chairman Peter Blanck to speak at FCC summit on telecommunication needs of people with cognitive disabilities and his 2014 book eQuality

The FCC is holding a summit to facilitate discussion of the telecommunication needs of people with cognitive disabilities and effective means of meeting those needs. Panels will include:
- Communication Technologies for Independent Living
- Emergency Preparedness/Living in the Community
- Ensuring and Funding Access to Equipment, Training and Broadband
An expo of vendors and distributors of assistive technologies will be held during the summit. The expo is aimed at familiarizing participants with available communication technologies to assist individuals with cognitive disabilities.
The summit will take place Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (ET) at FCC headquarters, Room TW-C305 (Commission Meeting Room), 445 12th Street, S.W., Washington, DC 20554. The meeting will be open to the public and webcast with open captioning at www.fcc.gov/live.

The meeting site is fully accessible to people using wheelchairs or other mobility aids. Sign language interpreters, open captioning, and assistive listening devices will be provided on site.
