On October 2, 2013 the Coleman Institute will host its thirteenth annual conference on cognitive disability and technology. The highlight of the conference will be the launch of a new declaration of rights: The Rights for People with Cognitive Disabilities to Technology and Information Access. Conference participants will have an opportunity to endorse the declaration.
In addition, featured speakers will discuss the implications of such rights and will provide updates on technology and cognitive disability with respect to health, security and privacy and the state of the science. A new Technology Showcase component has been added and is a joint project withANCOR. In addition, there are breakout sessions and hosted roundtables on robotics, technology adoption using Medicare waivers, aging and developmental disabilities, the neurodiversity movement, designing for exceptional needs, a usability testing laboratory for assistive and adaptive technology, and more.
