During HARC’s 60th annual meeting, Brian McLane ’69, Burton Blatt Institute at Syracuse University senior advisor, delivered a moving tribute to SU alumni James ’69 G’74 and Kathy Heffernan ’70. Longtime friends of McLane, the Heffernans were honored for years of dedication and service to HARC and people with intellectual disability.
HARC helps people with intellectual disability and their families enjoy lives of quality, inclusion and dignity by providing support, education, and advocacy. HARC was founded in 1951 by a small group of parents whose mission was to address the challenges of intellectual disability.

At the July 23 celebration in Hartford, Conn., McLane was joined by Connecticut Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman.
