Sally Z. Weiss is a professional writer and editor with extensive experience in disability research, training, advocacy and education. She is currently Director for Knowledge Translation for the Southeast ADA Center where she is the editor and lead writer for four online courses: Welcoming Customers with Disabilities to Your One-Stop Center; ADA Basics; Basic ADA Building Blocks; and Title II: A Guide for ADA Coordinators, State and Local Governments, and Constituents with Disabilities. In addition, she edited and contributed to the development of a customer service curriculum for a major airline based in the Southeast. She is also responsible for identifying, documenting and disseminating mini-case studies and reports on best practices in voluntary compliance with the ADA within the Southeast Federal Region IV.

Prior to joining the Southeast ADA Center, Ms. Weiss was Project Coordinator for Project Leadership, a three-year leadership training project on self-determination for adults with significant disabilities as well as for family members of children and adults with developmental disabilities. Ms. Weiss also directed several national disability-related projects during her 10 years on the national staff of United Cerebral Palsy. She also managed UCP’s national information and referral program and edited a quarterly publication for people with disabilities and their families. Before joining UCP in June, 1988, Ms. Weiss worked as a Parent Effectiveness Trainer for the Montgomery County (MD) Title I ESEA Program.

Ms. Weiss is a person with a disability who is also the adoptive mother of four young adults, two of whom have significant disabilities.
